UCWS Finals & June Class

Oh the excitement of the weekend... practicing for midterms and helping one another... finding bikini outfit below 250 arc and formal below 750 arc... sharing our low prim clothing, hair, shoes, and jewelry finds... then midterms and shaking fingers as we performed for our trainers... we ALL passed... woooHooo !!

Time to party with dancing at the Ms Sophisticated Pageant !!  By the time the weekend ended, I needed to sleep for a weekend, LOL !!  But oh yes... let's not forget... one more nail-biting event:  FINAL with ANROL !!  Now the nerves really set in as we asked one another what we thought Anrol would want from us for our final.


Sleep, work and checking the UCWS blog to read again that our final would be scheduled today with Anrol.  Might be a good idea to log in....

Wow!  Good thing I did... I had an intense notecard to read and complete.  And only three hours before my Final !!  AND I was still working !!  I wondered if I would have enough time.  I rushed my work tasks so I could get a casual outfit, routine, and description together as well as completing the bio/survey Anrol requested.  10 minutes before my scheduled time, I realized I still had too much to do to be ready... so I reluctantly requested a new time from Anrol.

Oh thank heavens she said yes and we re-scheduled for an hour later than original.  And I got it all done... passed Anrol my completed notecard and ran for a potty break.  Minutes later, I landed at the University styling stage in my casual outfit under 450 arc... waiting anxiously for Anrol to appear:

But Anrol was delayed due to judging at the styling event for the evening.  So time for practicing... and practice I did... all of the routines:  bio, beach, dome #1 and #2, styling... and still struggled with remembering the correct walk.  My downfall... remembering the correct walk when I could remember everything else... sigh.

And then Anrol was there and it was time.  It was the final and she was strict.  No teasing, talking, asking questions.  I followed her directions carefully, thinking about what she was asking before I answered.  Using my quick change folders to add and remove clothing for each portion of the Final.  Taking my time to check through items needed before I began any of the routines.  

But alas!  I am pretty sure that after practicing earlier I forgot to switch off the mandatory walk for beach for styling... OR Not... lol, I was doing bio last in practice and I would have known to use my own walk for that.  So perhaps I was ok... I guess I will have to wait because she could not tell me if I had passed until after all June students had taken the Final.  

Oh I HOPE I passed !!  A dream come true if I did !!  Oh please God...  :))

Thank you Anrol for being so amazing and bringing your dream to life in SL so all of us could enjoy it too!  Thank you to Steve for building the dream and sharing it with her!  You too are amazing!  All the best to you both!

And thank you to my fellow June classmates, it was an honor and privilege to learn about modeling with you... answering each other's questions and encouraging the other when we got down... it was wonderful and I will never forget it!  Huggles and kissys to all of you!  <3

CWS Styling Black & White

I love the contrast of black and white!  I would have performed even if it weren't our required midterm styling event.  What fun it was to be creative with monochrome... I knew in advance I wanted to use a black fantasy skin.  And oh boy!  did I !  I tried it so many different ways before I decided on the final.  Then it was looking for new poses... cuz I love poses almost as much as I do fashion.
But this time, I couldn't find any poses greater than I already had... and this is what I created that won SECOND PLACE !!  yayyyyy!  :))

Hi everyone and welcome to Classic w/Style's black and white styling theme.  My name is SassyLassye and I am feeling beautiful tonight in my black and white!  It was hard to chose an outfit  this evening because there are so many fun choices with black and white.

But one thing I knew was I wanted to wear a dark fantasy skin, made by Lis in dark grey and wears like a million bucks!  My wings are twitching in happiness as I show you my beautiful butterfly outfit called Onyx Fae by By Snow.  It has lovely shiny onyx jewels in strategic places as well as along my arms, legs and forehead.  I have dressed up the butterfly outfit to give it an elegant look by adding the white ballgown skirts of the Hiliary gown by Bliss Coture.  And I do feel elegant!  I want to strut my stuff! 

I am also wearing wonderfully comfortable and beautiful white pumps called Pinup by Stiletto Moody.  On my head, I am wearing Crazy Horse hair in silver by Vanity topped off with a lacey and perky black minature top hat by J&J.  On my gorgeous fantasy, I am wearing a contrasting white butterfly full body tattoo by F:A.  I hope it catches your eyes likes it does mine!  Finally, I am wearing silver eyes and various silver makeup to accent my face.

CWS Styling Ponytail

Here we go again!  LOL!  I was not particularly inspired by the ponytail theme for styling tonight... but I did manage to come up with a costume no one else had... LOL !!

No matter how I tried, I could not rid myself of the idea of true pony tail costume.  My search led me to Mech Toy designer who creates avatars that look like plastic wind-up toys.  And guess what?  Several "My Little Pony" designs, which is exactly what I was looking for....

The only thing ... EXPENSIVE!  So i chose the lowest cost pony avatar and was a bit disappointed in the outfit colors not matching between top and bottom.  For as much as I paid, I think the colors should have been more high definition and similar.  Oh well... new I should have gone with my second choice... CHEERLEADER!  LOL... live and learn!

Hi everyone and welcome to tonights ponytail styling theme.
My name is SassyLassye and I present to you My Little Pony mechanical doll with pink and blue pony tail!  When my mind was creatively thinking about ponytails, I saw visions of girls with ponytails, bobbysox and poodle skirts, cheerleaders jumping up and down with pom poms, and Betty with the blond ponytail from the old Archies cartoon (my fav!).  But flashing in and around all those visions was a real pony… because after all, doesn’t every girl want a pony when she is young?  So here I am, my dream come true wearing Little Pony Doll Puppet avatar in pink and blue with swishing mane and tail, golden hooves and pony outfit all from Mech Toy.  I had a lot of fun putting swishy tail poses together for this styling and hope you have enjoyed the entertainment as much as I have.  Thank you Anrol, Steve, Laylah, our lovely Judge Nickle, and the wonderful audience.  Hugz & God Bless.

Sascha's Designs Style Show @ CWS

Today's Classic w/Style Designer show featured Sascha's Designs, a favorite designer of mine.  So it was exciting to watch the show and drool over the wonderful SL Fashion Sascha Frangilli creates.  Here is one of her creations I wore to the show:

Here are some pics I captured of the Designer show with all the lovely CwS models led by DebbieDoo Tigerfish and featuring Lisana Rossen.  Look at how cute she was when she closed out the show:

 While watching, I couldn't help but daydream about myself as one of the models walking the runway in the beautiful creations.  Although I loved all of Sascha's creations, my favorite was the Arrogance gown in sky... which is featured in the slideshow below.  Oh yeah, beware of Sascha... smelly clouds seem to follow the "Queen of Farts"... LOL !!

CWS Styling Snow White & Seven Dwarves

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?"

Oh the styling was fun tonight with Snow White and Seven Dwarves...
Not only were fond memories of a beloved childhood fairy tale brought back, but new memories were made with a twist on the old!

We had several evil Queens, a wicked witch, quite a few Snow Whites with one dressed as a Neko Snow White (me) and another with the seven dwarves clinging to her skirts, a poisoned apple, and a flock of flowers fluttering over the main stage.  It was a modern fairy tale come true, lol !!

Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to CwS Snow White and Seven Dwarves styling event! My name is SassyLassye and I am here to tell you a fairy tale this evening… well perhaps not a fairy tale but a Neko tail.

Once upon a time there was very good Neko princess, who loved her parents very much. Her name was Snowy White because her mother had wished for a princess whose fur was white as snow in winter. Snowy loved to sing and play in the woods, bringing flowers to her mother. But one day, her beloved mother the Queen, died. Not long after, her wonderful father, the King, married a new wife who was beautiful but very vain. Every day while Snowy grows older, the new Queen asks her magic mirror who is the fairest Neko of them all. And every day, the magic mirror replies you, my Queen, are the fairest Neko of them all. Until one day, the magic mirror says, yes my Queen, you are beautiful but Snowy White is fairest Neko of all.

Enraged the Queen orders a servant to kill Snowy White in the woods, but the servant cannot do it because Snowy White is such a beautiful and sweet Neko. The servant tells Snowy to run and hide from the Queen. After wandering and frightened, Snowy finds a cottage and falls asleep. When she wakes she is surrounded by seven Neko dwarves who take pity on her and let her stay with them as long as she keeps house for them. Relieved and happy, Snowy takes care of her newfound friends, singing merrily as she cleans house. Finished with her chores, and delighting in the fresh spring air, Snowy skips out into the woods looking for flowers.

Snowy skips through the afternoon gathering flowers, wearing her favorite and newly repaired blue, yellow, white and red ruffley dress by Deviance, which flutters gently in the soft mid-afternoon wind. She pushes tendrils of her deep ebony Marilyn hair by Curl Up & Dye out of her eyes as she reaches for flowers along her path.

Her Neko ears & tail in blue, yellow and white by LoveCats twitch contentedly as she hums to herself. Her blue boomer paws by LoveCats are sure on the path, as she skips from spot to spot. Soon her arms are full of flowers, which drift to the ground behind her. Suddenly, Snowy stops, her sensitive ears perking forward as she spies an old Neko woman near her. The old witchy looking Neko approaches, cooing in her cackling voice that Snowy must be hungry. She offers Snowy an apple, telling her how good it will taste. Snowy takes the apple, looking at it in hunger. Should she eat it? Perhaps we will know tomorrow when the story continues before bed….

Thank you Steve, Anrol, the very beautiful Laylah who has the difficult job of judging tonight and most of all the audience for letting me entertain you with a Neko tail. Do you wonder what will happen to Neko Princess Snowy? Will she live happily ever after? We can only hope so! Have a wonderful evening & God bless!

My First CwS Styling Event ~ Styling Cartoon Character (June 6, 2011)

Cartoon Character styling?  Oh what fun!  SL Fashion meet Saturday mornings!

There was never any doubt as to who I was going to be... Betty Boop!  My alter ego, my persona, my icon!  Over the past few years she has become integral to my personality... she is my inspiration and example of confidence.  She is as sweet as she is sensual, as naughty as she is nice, as silly as she is smart, and just oh so loveable with her "boop boop be doop."  Who can resist Betty Boop once you get to know her?  LOL!  I sure haven't been able to...

Not only is she an inspiration to me, but she was an inspiration to womanhood when she was "rezzed" back in the 1930s.  In her own silly sweet way, she encouraged women to be all they could be with no holding back.  She was another icon of women's liberation and feminism.  "More power to ya, baby" with a sock it to you mentality, delivered in the sweetest voice imaginable.

I love you Betty, I always will, and it was my privilege and pleasure to portray you at Classic w/Style styling!  Mwahz!  <3 <3 <3

Good evening everyone!
I am Betty Boop... also known as SassyLassye and welcome to CwS Styling Cartoon Character!

Betty Boop is an animated cartoon character created by Max Fleischer, with help from animators including Grim Natwick. She originally appeared in the Talkartoon and Betty Boop film series, which were produced by Fleischer Studios and released by Paramount Pictures. She has also been featured in comic strips and mass merchandising. Despite having been toned down in the mid-1930s to appear more demure, she became one of the most well-known and popular cartoon characters in the world.  I personally identify with her sensual sweetness... who doesn't love Betty Boop?

   ...Boop...Boop...Be...Doop...

Betty Boop made her first appearance on August 9, 1930, in the cartoon Dizzy Dishes. Although Clara Bow is often given as being the model for Boop, she actually began as a caricature of singer Helen Kane.

Betty Boop is regarded as one of the first and most famous sex symbols on the animated screen; she is a symbol of the Depression era, and a reminder of the more carefree days of Jazz Age flappers. Her popularity was drawn largely from adult audiences, and the cartoons, while seemingly surreal, contained many sexual and psychological elements.

Betty Boop was unique among female cartoon characters because she represented a sexualized woman. Other female cartoon characters of the same period, such as Minnie Mouse, displayed their underwear or bloomers regularly, in the style of childish or comical characters, not a fully defined woman's form. Many other female cartoons were merely clones of their male co-stars, with alterations in costume, the addition of eyelashes, and a female voice.

Betty Boop wore short dresses, high heels, a garter, and her breasts were highlighted with a low, contoured bodice that showed cleavage. In her cartoons, male characters frequently try to sneak peeks at her while she's changing or simply going about her business. In Betty Boop's Bamboo Isle, she does the hula wearing nothing but a lei, strategically placed to cover her breasts, and a grass skirt. This was repeated in her first cameo appearance in, Popeye the Sailor (1933). There was, however, a certain girlish quality to the character. She was drawn with a head more similar to a baby's than an adult's in proportion to her body. This suggested the combination of girlishness and maturity that many people saw in the flapper type, which Betty represented.

Almost the First Styling ~ Styling Lady in Orange (June 2, 2011)

So, I was all set to style for the Lady in Orange styling.  I arrived in world a few hours ahead of time to practice and finish my notecard description.  I had the perfect poses!  I was so excited I was almost quivering.  I was sure I had a chance of winning if not placing.  LOL!

Boy was I surprised when suddenly a notice popped up with a texture image of the winners of the Lady in Orange styling event.  NOT!  :((  I was devastated to learn the event had been held earlier in the day while I was working in RL.  What had happened I wondered... did they change the schedule?  After a hurt inquiry, I was startled to discover I had misread the schedule!  Amazing but true, lol!  Thursday styling is at noon SLT rather than 5pm SLT.  GOOD TO KNOW!!  (and better luck next time hunny! lol)

So although I was disappointed, I reclaimed my good humor and set to prepping for the next FIRST styling event!  LOL...  But now I have this blog and can show you the work I went to for my not quite first styling event.

Hello Ladies, Gentlemen, DebbieDoo, Anrol, Steve, and our lovely Judge.  My name is SassyLassye and welcome to tonight's Styling Creative Futuristic.

Tonight I bring the flavor of Tron and Tron Legacy… two movies separated by 30 years but still capturing the inspiration of humanity as we look forward to the possibilities of the FUTURE.  I represent the Tron Queen, a digital representation of the inner workings of the electronic and computerized worlds we interact with as Humans.  She is the elite program, manifesting from CLU and Flynn’s combustion.  She is the best of them both, but still controlling all other programs and utilities.  Obedience is not an option, but a requirement for their world to continue.  It is an alien, sterile and starkly contrasting world; entirely different and yet similar to the Human one.

She is enrobed in sYs ATOME avant gard outfit which consists of a cyan light suit covering entire body except face along with sculpted cyan corset, collar, and soundglass helmet.  Additional female robotic outfit in white latex overlaying the ATOME outfit,  consisting of corset, thong, gloves, stockings, central silk, and back ring.  Hair flowing from helmet is MIRROR's C14 in Cyber Light (White - Grey) with cyan lights and white/grey streaks. Outfit is completed with blue ring black ankle light boots, Rublick strap armwarmers in white with cyan light streaks, Razmataz cyan cyber disc, Piece of Mind amethyst eyeshow and frosted lips, Mad' KissMe lips in aqua, NOYA ocean orange-clear sunrise eyes, Chaisuki lashes 02, FD Niki eyeliner, and FD Zoe sunkissed skin with enhanced starbust tan cleavage by Redgrave.

Frankie monster is here towow you with her glitzy and ritzy dance moves, showing off her ghoulish green skin with scars from her recent operationpartially covered by her sexy tap dancing outfit.  Her cane swings as she moves around the stage, dazzling everyone with her quick moves.  She is beautiful even if she is half dead and green.

I love UCWS, but I was not excited to learn about blogging for class today.  Blogging is like reading someone's personal diary... BORING!!
And class was right after placing for the first time in the nightly styling event!
SECOND in Styling Dots!  YAYYYY!!  :))   Hard to concentrate after that, lol...

OK... so maybe this blogging thing won't be so bad... because I can post pictures, right?  And tell everyone how wonderful Classic with Styling is and how much I love becoming a model!  I can write about and show SL Fashion!

Hello Ladies, Gentlemen, Laylah, Steve, and our lovely Judge, Kiralyn, for this evening.  My name is SassyLassye and welcome to tonight's Styling Polka Dots Theme.

Polka dots make me think of rain boots and umbrellas, Gene Kelly singing and dancing in the rain, and splashing through puddles with a smile on my face!

With all this exuberance in mind, I chose Boudoir's Poppydott's summer dress with romantic hair flowers, UBU rain boots, and SbS dotty umbrella.  I feel so refreshed and excited as rain sprinkles down on my Zoe skin by FD.  I just have to dance.  I raise my face to the sky, my Chaisuki lashes 02 fluttering as I taste the raindrops on my tongue. I don't care if my Vanity working Monday hair in noisette is soaked.  I am free and loving life!  I am dancin' and singin' in the rain.....

Big excitement!  I attended Carrie's Boutique designer show at CWS sim on Saturday.. because I love Carrie's lingerie but also because Anrol put out her usual notice for 3 models needed for the model video after the show... but a catch!  LOL... have to be in attendance at the show the entire time to be eligible... well, who am I to resist a challenge!

You talk about the modeling Bug biting me hard after this... I could hardly wait for modeling classes at UCWS to begin later in the week!
